My conversion program seems to be fully functional now. It’s pretty bare bones at this point, but there don’t seem to be any errors in the output and its *extremely* fast. The FAW program that I was using took a couple of minutes to process the gedcom file, and screwed up all the source records. Mine does the conversion in just 2 seconds (including writing the tables). Currently the program writes the tables as comma-delimited text files, because I just import those files into MySQL tables on the webserver.

All of the data currently in the genealogy database was converted using my new program. I’ll be continuing to enhance the program and may offer it for sale as shareware as soon as I polish it up a little.

We’re back from a week with Monica’s family in Guanajuato, Mexico! I’ve got a lot of great pictures to add to the site over the next few days. I also have a special photo gallery that I’ll add as soon as I’ve finished with the photo processing.

We had a great time in Mexico, but more about that later when I post the pictures. Oh, and I managed to complete about 80% of the gedcom conversion program on the plane and in Guanajuato!
