Recently got back from 10 days in Honolulu. Prior to our vacation we started looking for a new house, so now the search continues in earnest. We’re going to see at least 5 more some evening this week. Liam’s training is coming along nicely. He’s becoming very well behaved and is even starting to obey commands when he’s very distracted. We took him to the Rose Parade here in Portland on Saturday and put him on a down-stay through the whole thing. Even with kids and other dogs coming to visit him, he stayed in the same spot with only a couple of reminders from me.

Finally caved in and bought Delphi 6 Professional so that I can add database functionality to my ged2csv program. It arrived at the house this morning, so this evening I’ll get to play!

Ged2csv v1.0 will be released sometime in the next few days. This is the first non-beta version and it will no longer be free, but will be available as shareware. I haven’t determined the final pricing yet, but it will be very reasonably priced.

I’ve been making sporadic progress on the infusedphoto.com website over the last week. I want both sites to have the same basic look and feel, but I’ve diffentiated them by using different color schemes. I’ve made some modifcations to the PHP scripts and database, but there’s still quite way to go before it’ll be ready. We’re going to Hawaii soon, and I’d like to get most of it done by then.

I received my new Canon FS4000 film scanner this morning, so expect new photos soon. I’ve been working with black & white much more lately and I’m just not that satisfied with digital black & white conversions. I’ll stick with digital for my color work, but I’m going to start shooting a lot more black & white with my trusty old Canon Elan IIe. In my opinion, digital just doesn’t have enough dynamic range to make good black & white photos.
