Yesterday was our first full day on Kauai. We didn’t get out of the condo until about 10:45, but we made it to the top of the canyon by about 1pm (after a few stops). After stopping at the Koke’e museum for a trail map, we did a 2.5 hour round-trip hike to Waipo’o Falls. The falls weren’t worth the hike at all, however, right before you get to the falls the trail opens out on to a magnificent view of the canyon. That view was well worth the effort.

After the hike back up (which about killed me since I’ve been sick for the last week) we drove back down the mountain and stopped at Po’ipu beach for a little while. Then we had some great pizza and beer at Pizzetta in Po’ipu before heading back to crash for the night.
