I remember when, back in 2001, Alamy Images first launched their website. At the time, I thought that their business model for selling stock photography without ripping off the photographers (like Corbis or Getty et al.) was pretty revolutionary. Well, after 4 years of deliberating I finally made the leap. Last month I started the process of getting qualified to sell my photos at Alamy Images. In early January I prepared and mailed off a CD containing 10 test photos for their quality control review. A few days ago I found out that they had all passed QC, so now I’m able to sell my photos on Alamy. You can get to my photos on Alamy with the link below, but there are only the first 10 photos available right now. I’ll be preparing and submitting more over the next few months.

By coincidence, one of my photos of Hawaii is due to be published this April in a book titled “Splendid Pathways: A Tour Through the World’s Finest Botanical Gardens“, by Bryan Geon. At least I hope that the photo made it through the final editing. The last time I traded emails with Bryan my photo was still in the book, but that was quite a while ago and the publishing date has slipped several times since then.

Monica is having an open house here today to sell some of her jewelry for the holidays. I was planning on refactoring the admin modules in Retrospect-GDS, but I’m fighting the flu and my brain just doesn’t seem up to the task.

Instead of coding, I’m using the time to do some maintenance on the sites. So far I’ve upgraded the support forums to phpbb 2.0.11 and the bug tracker to mantis 0.19.2. I’m also in the process of uploading the last batch of photos from Spain. This batch is from sunny Ibiza.

The next in the series of Spanish photo galleries is up. Barcelona. Damn it was hot and humid there.

We’re driving up to Seattle tonight to spend a long weekend away. It’s sure to be cold and wet, but I’ll take that over 97 degrees and 100% humidity any day.

I added two new photo galleries from our trip to Spain: Toledo and Zaragoza.
Next up will be Barcelona, Valencia, and Ibiza.

80 photos from our trip to Spain are up in the photo galleries. This first set is from the several days we spent in Madrid. I can’t be bothered captioning them right now, so you’ll just have to enjoy them without any accompanying text.
