Marathon Training Schedule
We’re using the 16 week training schedule found in The Non-Runner’s Marathon Trainer to prepare for the San Diego Marathon on June 4th, 2006.
The plan is to run the Day 1 and Day 2 runs on Mondays and Tuesdays, Day 3 on Thursdays, and the long Day 4 run on Saturdays. This allows us to get the required day of rest before and after the longest weekly run.
You might notice that the marathon is technically in week 17 since it falls on a Sunday, but we’re going to ignore that and just call week 16 a long week. :-)
