I started my intermediate spanish class at Berlitz last night. Berlitz offers a bunch of different kinds of instruction, but the type I’m taking right now is full immersion group instruction. The classes are generally very small (this class has 4 students) and you go twice a week for 6 weeks. Each class is 90 minutes long.

Our original plan was for all three students from the beginning spanish class to take the next class together utilizing the same teacher, but it didn’t work out that way. Only two of us from the beginning class went through with it, and our teacher no longer works there either.

The new teacher is much more experienced then the last one, so I think I’m going to get much more out of this class. It’s pretty weird when I realize that I’m actually learning another language. You’d think that I would have learned something before now, my wife being Mexican and all. Anyway, I walked out of class last night feeling very positive. I have a feeling that I’ll get a lot more out of this intermediate class then I did the beginner’s class.
